"Thank you, No. 1" The smartly dressed man said stepping down from the Furness 0-6-0. The engine tooted its whistle and winked as a "you're welcome" and carried off. The man was the newly appointed Chief Engineer of the equally new North Western Railway, Mr. Topham Hatt and he was in Dalton-In-Furness to meet someone that could change the difficulty of running the new railway forever. As he waited at the station platform, he heard a familiar whistle. Pulling up to the station was one of the Furness's K2s, nicknamed "Seagulls". Topham smiled at the engine, who was on leased to the NWR to help it get started. "How have you been, Edward?" Edward was pulled from his rather dreary thoughts and looked at the man. "oh!
